Do I need council approval for a pool in WA?
Yes. In Western Australia you need a building permit from your local council for any swimming pool or spa that can hold more than 300 mm (30 cm) of water. This includes above-ground pools, spas and many portable pools.
How long does pool council approval take?
A standard pool building permit usually takes a few weeks once all documents are ready. Sites with planning overlays, easements or heritage controls can take longer. We give you a timeline with your quote.
Can you help if my pool was built without a permit?
Yes. In WA this is done with a Building Approval Certificate, which approves work that was built without a permit. We handle the whole process.
